This is a great question - to get people to drink more wine? Start having parties at your place and only serve wine. Have dinners with a wine theme. For example, cook a wild boar on the grill out back and have all your friends bring bottles of Pinot Noir or red Burgundy. Then everyone can try everyone else's wine and start to learn what they like. For the next dinner you could serve lamb wrapped in pancetta and have everyone bring big red Zinfandels. This is a fun way to get your friends involved in wine. By the way, you can do it with burgers on the grill or vegetables, or anything. I just happen to have had wild boar and lamb recently...

  Another way is to meet people after work at a local wine bar. You would be surprised how many there are out there.
